YES-NYC Scholars explored Johns Hopkins, Georgetow YES-NYC Scholars explored Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, and GWU, getting a feel for college life in DC. Over lunch, Howard University sophomore and YES Scholar Sandra shared insights on HBCUs, studying law, and life in the capital. We also took in the sights at the National Mall, visiting the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the National Museum of African American History. Now, our scholars are more motivated than ever—researching schools, applying to summer programs, and building their college lists!

College tours aren’t just about seeing a campus—they’re about showing students what’s possible. That’s why our YES college students lead the way, guiding the tours to give students a firsthand look at college life. Seeing someone from your own school thriving in college makes all the difference. These tours are a vital part of our mission to expand access to higher education and help students envision their future. This year, the YES LA Class of 2026 visited UC Berkeley, Santa Clara University, Stanford, UC Santa Cruz, USF, and SF State.
